Philippine Public Holiday for 2011


Cheap flights and cheap travels all begins with planning early.  So for next year's travel, here are the Philippine Holidays, regular, special, and working, as declared by Malaca├▒ang through the signed Proclamation 1841.  Also, RA 9492 allows all non-religious holidays moved to the nearest Monday.

Regular Holidays for next year are:
June 14 (Monday nearest to June 12) - Independence Day
November 29 (Monday nearest to November 30) - Bonifacio Day
December 27 (Monday nearest to December 30) - Rizal Day



Other Regular Holidays:
January 1, Friday - New Year's Day
April 1 - Maundy Thursday
April 2 - Good Friday
April 9, Friday - Araw ng Kagitingan
May 1, Saturday - Labor Day
August 30, Monday - National Heroes Day
December 25, Saturday - Christmas Day

Special Non-working Holidays are:
August 23 (Monday nearest to August 21) - Ninoy Aquino Day
November 1 - All Saints' Day
December 31 - Last Day of the Year

Also, December 24 (Friday) has been declared an additional non-working holiday for it is Christmas Eve.  Also February 22, or the Monday nearest February 25, was declared a special school holiday in commemoration to the EDSA Revolution.

Holidays for Muslim holidays like observance of Ramadan or Eid'l Fitr and the Feast of Sacrifice or Eid'l Adha is still to be announced as they depend on the Islamic calendar or the Hijra).
