52Wk Cooking Challenge: Week 2: Pastillas de Leche

It seems this post is a cheat since the challenge is to cook (or bake) but Pastillas de Leche is still food. And I really wanted to share this recipe because it is a hit.





Originally, this milk dessert is made using Carabao's milk and it is cooked to a thick consistency for hours but this recipe is easy and does not need cooking and only takes a few minutes of mixing.

Pardon if I will be posting the recipe in big quantities because we were selling this in the market since last week, we made it a point to do it in big batches to save the mixing time. 





Ingredients:
1 kg Condensed Filled Milk (I use Jersey)
1.5 kg Buttermilk Powder (I use the Windmill brand)
1 cup refined sugar

 
Instructions
1. Mix condensed milk and buttermilk powder. Add more condensed milk if the mixture becomes stiff. Add milk powder if the mixture is too soft and runny.

 
2. Get a small amount and roll into balls with the palm of your hand.

 
3. Coat with refined sugar. 4. Package in yellow cellophane or wax paper.
