Road Trip Bacolod to Dumaguete

I always wanted to get away from the life I have in Bacolod. I would want to escape from the routine and the responsibities. Because of our two businesses, our hands are tied and I can't give in to my itchy feet. Amidst the trips after trips planned, only to postpone them because of unforeseen events, it is totally disheartening for a travel fanatic me.

So after a careful planning, finishing all has to be done for the week, we pushed through with the idea of having a road trip to Dumaguete.

It was not my first time in Dumaguete as it was one of the destination for our highschool fieldtrips and i haved tagged along to my mom's office lakbay aral in Dumaguete. But every travel is unique amidst however countless you may visit a place.  Dumaguete, also known as the City of Gentle People is the capital of Negros Oriental. It is Philippine's motorcycle capital and the home of one of Philippines' oldest university, Siliman University.  But what I love about Dumaguete is that it is a gateway to lot of other provinces. From Dumaguete, you may go to Siquijor, Southern part of Cebu, and Northwest Mindanao.  But more than that, Dumaguete had me smitten because of its beaches, good food and their people.

We had Ron's mom, aunt and cousins with us so from Bacolod we traveled to La Carlota, via Abuanan and Atipuluan, to leave our car and joined them in Aunt Meking's pick-up. From La Carlota City, we passed by La Castellana to go to Canlaon City, our lunch stopover. At La Castellana, Mt Kanlaon is so near that you could see its crater. Amidst the winding road, the picturesque view of the vast fields of sugarcane and the grand Kanlaon as its backdrop is such a sweet treat.

Canloan City is already part of negros Oriental. After a light meal, we freshened up to continue with the road trip. The other cities and municipalities we passed by before we reached Dumaguete are:
Valle Hermoso
Guihulngan City
La Libertad
Bin dot
Bails City
Tan jay
San Jose

And finally, Dumaguete!
