Tying the Knot

I'm getting married.

I can`t really remember how Ron and I agreed to settle and tie the knot. There was no sweet and heartfelt proposal, there was no youtube worthy bend on one knee guy asking girl, the latter saying the big yes. All I could remember the night at the crossing while we were waiting for my work transportation to pick me and he whispered the words, "Lets get married", and I replied, “Sure. If we ever get married, I want it on Nov 12. I think its cool to get married on 11-12-13.” I was just playing around. I never thought he gets serious about it.

Today, Ron is coming over dinner to ask for Mom's blessing. I HOPE SHE AGREES. 🍻

An afternoon at Centrio Mall

After a very long afternoon nap, we readied  ourselves and tagged along Tita Vangie and her grandchildren. We headed to Cagayan de Oro's newest hub, Centrio Ayala Mall.

We left Igor and Gabby at Little Martians for a 30 minute playtime while, me and my brother and Ate Aimee roamed around Centrio.

Centrio got its name from the combination of 2 words, Center and Rio.  Center meaning the heart of the city as it pose at the center of Cagayan de Oro's shopping, entertainment and business. And Rio, which means river which is very poplular in Cagayan de Oro.

What I love about Ayala Malls is its trade mark of gardens and flowing water.  This is translated in Centrio's garden where two large humongous acasia trees stood in the limelight.

Aside from its stunning garden it also has an Activity area which can hold 300 people.  The mall is zoned per level according to the family's needs.  In the first level, high-end shops, book store, food chains, and the first in Mindanao, Rustan's Fresh Supermarket. The second level houses family and kids store, activities shops and Robinsons Department Store which also extends to the 3rd floor.  The top most floor or the 3rd floor is the house of the IT zone and wellness and also Ayala Cinemas which includes 3 200 seater 2D Cinema and a 300 seater 3D Cinema.

While waiting for my cousins to arrive from work, we stayed at the JCo Donuts.  Like the other branches around the Philippines, long queue and all seats are occupied.  So we ordered a box of the famos donuts and we added coffee and chocolate drinks.  Good thing, we got some seats just after we finished with our orders.

IT was fun bonding with my family. We only get to see each other at least once a year but we are surely feel loved.

Cagayan de Oro once more

This CDO trip was booked out of whim. I want a grand vacation as soon as I decided to liberate myself from the most tiring work at Coke. So though I have been here, I thought that visiting my relatives once more is the energizer that I need. It was timely that Cebu Pacific added direct flights to CDO from Bacolod.

With no Itinerary, me and my brother, Rex,  have packed our bags a week early. We were then given an advisory that instead of a direct flight, we will be routed to Manila in the evening and then early in the morning we leave Manila for Cagayan de Oro.

Our plane to Manila

It was timely too because a depressing news that my former colleague at Manila Water who were like a nanay or mother to me passed away. So I took the opportunity of visiting her remains once we touched Manila land again.

It was quite depressing to see Ma'am Edna in a coffin. It was surreal. RIP Ma'am Edna. May you have eternal rest.

Till we meet again, Ma'am Edna. RIP.

I wasn't able to reconnect with some office mates as I arrived Arlington at 11pm.

After that we hailed a cab to Resorts World Manila as my brother haven't been inside the Casino-Hotel-shopping-entertainment place. Except for the casinos and some fancy restaurants, everything was almost closed.

After a few photos inside, we decided to hangout at the 24hr- operating Mc Donald's nearby to wait for our check in counter to open.

After an hour or so of flight, we arrived at the new Laguindingan Airport, CDO's new International Airport.

We are now here at our relative's place at Cagayan de Oro City as of this writing. My brother is still asleep to make up of the sleepless night. I'm leaving you with a breath taking photo of the clouds as seen by our window during our plane ride to CDO. I hope this encourages you to travel and see the world more.
